What does 925 mean? 

925 is the mark used to identify the alloy of Sterling Silver. Sterling silver is used for making jewellery, flat wear, bowls and coinage and traditionally marks a 25 year anniversary.

 

You’re cordially invited to celebrate a silver jubilee with ACAD’s Jewellery + Metal (J+M) program and wearable art history. This ‘sterling’ event will bring together 25 years’ worth of faculty, students and staff who will revel in the program’s rich history and look towards its exciting future.

 

Your ticket purchase provides you with full access to five exclusive events, and proceeds go towards supporting Jewellery + Metals student programming.

Chasing the Silver Line Exhibition + 925 Launch Party* (Free Event)

Chasing the Silver Line will feature J + M Alumni, and Wearable Art Alumni exhibiting works alongside current students of the J + M Program. This exhibition celebrates creative diversity and the many paths of the creative journey.

Take a look behind the scenes and see the studios of some notable J + M alumni. Artists Shona Rae, Louise Chong, Mona Hayes and Jeff deBoer are opening up their workshops and inviting you in to sneak a peek of the wonder world of jewellery making and metalsmithing.

This is a full day of conversations with ACAD J+M alumni sharing their creative journey. You will get a chance to interact with faculty, past and present, and meet alumni throughout the decades. It's a great opportunity to network, meet friends (old and new!) and share a giggle.

Gem Bash

Gemstones have mystified people for ages, used as accents for beautiful adornments, and even believed by some to have energy properties for healing and meditative purposes.

The Jewellery + Metals Program welcomes eight gem Dealers to display and sell one-of-a-kind semi-precious and precious gems. These dealers will showcase a variety of cut specimens from around the world and are generous supporters of our students in the J + M program.
